Does your dog have the freedom to move?

The symptoms of arthritis are not always easy to spot, so being aware of the signs of joint discomfort means you’ll be in the best position to act early and help your dog to keep moving. Use these questions below as a quick guide to assessing your dog's movement.

1. Does your dog have difficulty getting up from a lying position?
2. Is your dog more reluctant to move or exercise than he/she used to be?
3. Is your dog unable to exercise for as long as he/she used to?
4. Have you noticed you him/her limping at all?
5. Does he/she find it more difficult to get up and down the stairs or in and out of the car than they used to?
6. Have you noticed any changes in behaviour that seem out of character?
If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the questions above, your dog could be suffering from reduced joint mobility, and therefore you should seek veterinary advice.
